$150 Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension for 2025

The Australian Government has extended the Energy Bill Relief Fund for 2025.

From the 1 July 2025, eligible Australian households may receive a $150 rebate, available until the end of this calendar year. You can access more information about the Energy Bill Relief Fund extension by clicking here.

For energy consumers living in a caravan park, residential community, retirement village, or apartment building operating an embedded network — the process to receive this rebate is different from a standard residential household and varies by state, which are outlined for Network Energy Services customers below.

Queensland

Queensland customers who have an electricity account managed by Network Energy Services as of 1 July 21025 will automatically have the $150 applied to their account by the end of the 2025 calendar year.

Importantly, you do not need to do anything in order to access the Energy Bill Relief extension payment if you are an existing customer with an electricity account managed by Network Energy Services as of 1 July 2025.

Victoria

Victorian customers can apply for the the additional $150 payment from 1 July 2025 on the Victorian Energy Compare website. You can register to receive an invitation to apply for the $150 payment as soon as the new Energy Bill Relief program opens. To register online to receive the invitation to apply, please click here.

The 2024-25 Energy Bill Relief program for embedded network customers closed for new applications on 31 May 2025. For any enquiries about existing applications please contact ebr.support@deeca.vic.gov.au.

New South Wales

New South Wales customers who successfully apply for one of the following electricity rebates, will automatically receive the rebate as a separate payment. The relevant rebates include:

  • Low Income Household Rebate
  • Family Energy Rebate
  • Medical Energy Rebate
  • Life Support Rebate

If you receive a different rebate — for example, the Seniors Energy Rebate — or if you are not eligible for an energy rebate, you must apply separately for the Energy Bill Relief payment via the New South Wales Government website. If this criteria relates to you and you have not yet applied for the 2024-25 Energy Bill Relief $300 payment, you can still do so via the website up until 11:59pm on 30 June 2025 by clicking here.

Applications for the 2025-26 financial year consumer rebates will open in August 2025. Network Energy Services will provide further details on the 2025 Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension with the issue of the Low Income Household Rebate forms with your first bill issued to you after 1 July 2025.
